MEET DELCOMMUNITY
WHO WE ARE
Low-income and underserved communities often face systemic barriers that limit their access to resources, opportunities, and information needed to improve their quality of life. These challenges can persist across generations, creating a cycle of disadvantage that is difficult to break. Without intervention, this deepens social inequality and hinders the collective progress of society.

DelCommunity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in California, committed to bridging social and economic gaps by empowering communities, promoting equity, and ensuring that individuals and families across San Diego and surrounding areas have equal opportunities to thrive.

Our Mission
-
We work to advance social, economic, and environmental equity through programs and advocacy that nurture and enhance opportunities for systematically underrepresented communities.
-
As a voice for the communities we serve, we support the development of fair, inclusive, and accessible public policies and programs that reflect the needs and aspirations of all.
-
We are dedicated to empowering low-income and underserved communities across California by enhancing quality of life, promoting well-being, and expanding opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.
How we do it
DelCommunity aims to reduce social and economic inequality:
-
Through our Leaders Empowering Access to Discovery (LEAD) program led by a high school student leadership team and working with our elementary school partners, we have been providing free STEAM activities to K-5 grades students in low-income communities in San Diego.
-
Through our Building Reliable, Inclusive, Decarbonized Ground Transportation Equity (BRIDGE) program led by industry-qualified, professional volunteers, DelCommunity seeks to support the communities to identify transportation needs, define zero emissions transportation project scope, provide free grant writing and seek government implementation fundings to deploy battery or hydrogen fuel cell community buses and charging/fueling infrastructure to support the livelihood of the local residents. The goal is to increase the mobility of students and seniors in the communities and improves the air quality in the neighborhood.
-
DelCommunity's BRIDGE Program also targets to create a safe, productive and empowering environment for the stay-home-parents to transition back into the workforce and high school student volunteers to explore zero emissions mobility career path by providing opportunities to work on zero emissions technology related projects.
